Since 1954, Nelson & Pope and its predecessors have been providing technical engineering and surveying expertise to the land development community, government, private landowners, utilities and service providers of Long Island and the Metropolitan New York area. As a multi-disciplined planning, engineering and surveying firm, Nelson & Pope offers municipal, institutional and private sector creative planning and design solutions for today’s complex land and infrastructure development environment.

In 1997, to meet the needs of our clients, Nelson & Pope and Charles Voorhis & Associates joined forces to create Nelson, Pope & Voorhis, LLC. Nelson, Pope & Voorhis is an environmental planning and economic consulting firm with the staff and expertise necessary to address complex environmental problem solving and develop creative solutions in the areas of environmental science and management, land-use planning and analysis, fiscal and economic assessment and SEQRA/NEPA compliance.

In 2003, Hawkins Webb Jaeger became an affiliate of Nelson & Pope, supplementing Nelson & Pope’s engineering and surveying expertise and providing an architectural component to the Nelson & Pope Team. Hawkins Webb Jaeger can trace its roots to 1872 and has been providing civil engineering, surveying and architectural services to the Long Island community since that time.

Work generated by the engineering and environmental companies generate a need for quality and scheduling control of subsurface investigations, sampling, analysis and monitoring. In 2009, East Coast Geoservices, LLC, was founded and became part of the Nelson & Pope Team. East Coast Geoservices provides soil and water sampling and investigation services to private industry and government throughout the tri-state area.
